Who I am
I am PKV, the creator of WorldleCity. I built the site’s games like the daily city guesser, GeoAngles, and the quiz library, ground-up from the city picture library to every question. I also write and publish articles on WorldleCity under those initials.
Why initials, not a full name
I prefer not to reveal my personal identity, for privacy reasons. WorldleCity itself doesn’t ask players to create an account or hand over personal details. Writing under initials applies that same stance to myself.
Why I built this
Worldle inspired me, and I wanted to build something similar for a while. The real push came when I saw that my kid needed something more challenging than recognizing countries from maps, something that would build real geographical knowledge while still being fun and familiar to play. The concept was an instant hit. Nowadays my kid not only gives me direct feedback on what works and what doesn’t, but also helps curate new cities and photographs.
The first version of this idea went out in 2024 as an Android app. I ended up discontinuing it as it became hard to maintain as a solo project. The current WorldleCity, which I rebuilt as a website starting in mid-2026, is the successor to that first attempt.
What I actually do here
I personally curate every city photo on this site. I also design, review, and test every quiz for accuracy before it goes live. I draft articles and quiz questions with AI assistance, then fact-check and edit every one before publishing. Please see the editorial policy for the full version of that process. I do this work during my free time as I also have another full-time job to do.
